From Outdated to Outstanding:

A DIY Client’s Dream Bathroom Makeover

Every home has that one space that desperately needs a refresh. For my DIY client, it was their main bathroom—a relic from the 70s, complete with patterned wallpaper, decorative borders, and a serious lack of storage. They wanted a modern, functional, and luxurious space, and I was thrilled to help bring their vision to life!

A Steam Shower Fit for Two

The heart of this renovation was the stunning, uniquely shaped steam shower designed to accommodate two people comfortably. They had always dreamed of having a steam shower but didn’t think it was possible in their space—until now! A spa-like feature in a home bathroom is a game changer, and incorporating it seamlessly into the space required careful planning. One of the biggest challenges? Finding the perfect spot for the steam generator. After some creative problem-solving, we cleverly hid it inside a knee-wall that also serves to conceal the toilet—maximizing function while keeping the aesthetics sleek.

Stunning Tile for a Bold, Modern Look

The flooring became a statement piece on its own, featuring beautiful black hexagon tiles with light grey grout. This contrast combination accentuates the geometric pattern and adds depth and dimension to the space. For the walls, we went with large-format black and white modern tiles that brighten the room while maintaining a luxurious, high-end feel. The result? A bathroom that feels both bold and timeless.

Smart Storage Solutions

Storage was a major concern in the old bathroom, so we made sure to maximize every inch in the new design. A sleek, floating vanity with drawers offers ample space for everyday essentials, while a floor-to-ceiling storage cabinet ensures there’s room for everything—from towels to toiletries—without cluttering the space. The niche inside the shower is strategically placed for easy access but remains hidden from sight when entering the bathroom, keeping the design clean and streamlined.

The Transformation

This renovation took the bathroom from outdated and dysfunctional to modern and spa-like. By combining thoughtful design, clever storage solutions, and luxurious finishes, my DIY client now has a stunning main bathroom that is as beautiful as it is practical.
